In 1990 Rick and His wife Dawn started their own business breaking in and pre training for major trainers and studs in Australia.
Some well known horses which have passed through Rick's hands are such as SCHILLACI-MARCH HARE-AIR SEATTLE-PHAROH-MAGIC OF SYDNEY-SPRINT BY-JUGGLER-NOTHIN LEICA DANE-BARYSHNIKOV-JOIE DENISE-FLYING SPUR-GOLD ACE-REPUBLIC LASS-ENCOSTA DE LAGO-EXCEED AND EXCEL-DANBIRD-SNITZEL-ACTIVATION-ZIPPING to name a few.
Recent horses which Rick and his team have selected as yearlings-educated and trained to perform at an elite level are WAR OF THE WORLDS and STAR OF LUIS. The teams strike rate has consistently been around 1 in 3 and even lower at times. With a solid infrastructure in place, facilities second to none, a solid work ethic and experience Rick is available to accommodate select clients to suit their needs.

Rick T Worthington
Rick was Born 1960 in N.S.W. and joined the Royal Australian Navy as a young man in 1976-1979 (Queens guard for Her Majesty's visit to Australia for the commemoration) Dip Ag.
Rick's time in the military has had an influential effect on his preparation of thoroughbreds with discipline and respect key factors in both horse training and work in the armed forces.
Rick and his team are the ultimate professionals, hence his motto, "EXCELLENCE WITHOUT COMPROMISE"
After his time in the Military Rick commenced working in the Thoroughbred Industry in 1980 for Sir Alec Creswick who was the chairman of the VRC. His work history also includes seasonal work mustering cattle and breaking in horses in the stock camps of the Northern Territory and the Kimberly region of Western Australia.
Rick and Dawn have also been involved in the pre export and quarantine for 500 + horses to overseas racing centers including preparing 2yo's for sales in Singapore-Macau and Hong Kong.
Past and previous clients include: T J Smith-Gai Waterhouse-Gerald Ryan-Tim Martin-Lee Freedman-Les Bridge-John Morish-Arrowfield Stud-Tyreel stud-Twin Palms stud-Emirates Park-Lloyd Williams-Various clients from Japan-South East Asia-America.
Rick and Dawn's horse operation today runs from their well appointed property in the Bowral district of the Southern Highlands of NSW called "DANRIC LODGE". This consists of numerous stable facilities- sand and grass tracks-barriers and swimming pool. All paddocks are post and rail and all pastures are highly improved. Their facility is of the highest standard so as to cater for all and any of their clients needs. Horses programs are set for the individual and vary from flat work in their full size dressage arena, hill work or bush trails out in the Belangalo forest which is good muscle building and fun for the horses.
Gallops and important pieces of work are carried out at both Gouburn and Canberra tracks. This gives options for different conditions and also seasons the horses for traveling to Sydney Melbourne etc and also assists in getting the horses used to the hustle and bustle of the city. This is why when Rick takes horses to town they are relaxed and generally perform extremely well.
Because we have the facilities the horses are able to go out into paddocks during the day to relax and unwind and of course eat grass if they so wish. This in itself is a great asset to have at our disposal for the horses happiness and well being.
